In this tutorial, I am going to tell you how to set up Magento 2 Email SMTP?
SMTP is an acronym for simple mail transfer protocol. It is a widely used email sending system.
All eCommerce owners know the value of email marketing. And one thing that is essential for email marketing is the branded email.
Having a branded email and then set it up with the store is a bit complicated for the beginners.
But this guide will help you understand the Magento SMTP Email setting.
Magento 2 Email Configuration Process:
- Step 1: Create an email address for the domain name
- Step 2: Configure the Magento 2 Email sending system
- Step 3: Keep the Email setting up-to-date
Create an Email address for the Domain Name
First of all, you need to create valid email addresses for the domain.
Every domain name and hosting provider have different interfaces, so I cannot follow one to show you how to do it.
But the Magento 2 hosting providers and email hosting provider does have tutorials and guides to create an email address.
Check yours out, and create the Email address for the domain name.
Configure the Magento 2 Email sending system
In the next step, we will configure the Email setting in the Magento 2 admin panel.
Navigate to the Stores > Settings > Configuration.
You will find the “Store Email Address” on the left panel side, under the General setting.
If you click the “Store Email Address,” it will open up the Magento 2 Email Setting.
General Contact
Under it, you will find the Sender Name and Sender Email address.
It is the name and email address that you want to appear as a sender when you send a newsletter.
Fill it accordingly.
Sales Representatives
It is the name and the email that you want to appear when the sales representative sends the mail.
Similarly, fill the Customer Support mail and name too. There are more options to create a custom type of mail setting if you need it.
Keep the Email setting up-to-date.
Finally, you have to set up the Magento Sale System for the store.
For that, find the “Sales Emails” under the Sales option.
Open up the “Order” tab and check the sender information.
If it is disabled, enable it.
The next setting is selecting the New Order Confirmation Email Sender. Put it as a Sales Representative, or any custom mail you made. It’s up to you.
Then there is an option to select a template. Choose any, or build one from scratch.
Configure the Email Sending System properly. It is an important part of the Magento store’s email marketing strategy.
After filling everything, click on the Save button to complete your settings.
Conclusion
Magento 2 has a default setting for the Email SMTP. It helps the store owners to use email marketing easily.
Still, many merchants do not know this and fail to configure the Magento 2 Email for the store.
