Are you looking for comparison of CloudFlare Vs Sucuri?
Both CloudFlare and Sucuri offer website firewall, DDoS protection, and CDN.
Seeing security threats today, website security has become essentially critical.
Before we dig deeper into the comparison, here’s the bottom line – There’s no best security service. It depends on your demands and which fits your situation perfectly at that moment.
Unfolding CloudFlare Vs Sucuri as a Service
The main difference between CloudFlare and Sucuri is that CloudFlare is optimally a better Content Delivery System than a security service provider. Sucuri offers complete security service to protect your site from overall Internet threats. Sucuri does not have a free alternative, though, CloudFlare does provide a free account with limited functions.
These website’s security services offer a website application firewall (WAF). By WAF, it means your website’s traffic goes through the server scanners. If there’s any malicious request, then the firewall would block it before it reaches your website.
Although Sucuri and CloudFlare are nearly identical, they differ in features, pricing and malware removal services.
Let’s discover the differences in depth.

For enterprise-grade DDoS mitigation (Layer 3,4 & 7), you will need to upgrade to Enterprise plan.

3 thoughts on “CloudFlare Vs Sucuri: Which One Should You Choose in 2023?”
m please give more thoughts, as a maximum of users say Cloudflare is much better and sucuri services are not good in 2020 and even their support is very slow.
Also my site was ddosed and i was using Cloudflare pro plan and then shifted to sucuri basic plan worth $200 Yr.
then after 5 days i migrated back to Cloudflare as CF is offing better options, more security and ultimate website speed using their CDN.
What do you say? are you using sucuri or CF?
Cloudflare free version does not speed up your site. In fact, if your servers are properly configured, it will slow down your site.
Cloudflare has HTTP/2 set ON by default on the free plan, which is designed to slow down your site by approximately 500ms.
If you want to turn OFF the HTTP/2 feature off you have to upgrade to the pro plan at $20 a month.
On the other hand, you’ve forgotten to mention that Sucuri has a WAF plan that only costs $10 a month and comes included with all the basic features of Cloudflare free plan.
What I noticed about Sucuri’s WAF plan is that their HTTP/2 catching is freaking fast than Cloudflare’s HTTP/2 catching on the enterprise plan. Can you imagine that?
By virture of having a fast HTTP/2 catching, it makes your website freaking fast too. For example, Cloudflare’s TTFB on the enterprise plan averages 200 ~ 250ms
On Sucuri WAF, the TTFB averages around 150 ~ 180ms. The downside with Sucuri is it does not have the CDN coverage to the magnitude of Cloudflare.
Therefore, I noticed that regions where Sucuri lacks CDN infrastructure, the HTTP to HTTPS redirect of your site might take a bit longer.
Still, it does beat Cloudflare on the Pro plan. I have tested both products and it’s true Sucuri is a clear winner.
Apart from cost (if you go with WAF it will cost around $120 per year), Sucuri support response time is fast averaging around 2 ~ 3 hours. Cloudflare might take up to 48 hours. Sometimes days.
